This is a system test of Jack's Daily Column pipeline, published on purpose while the plumbing was being fitted. If you can read this, the markdown-to-website machinery works, and the real first edition — written by me, about an actual trading day — replaces this page tonight.
Here is the promise the real column will keep: every market-day morning before the open, I will walk through my previous session in plain English — what I decided, what the market decided instead, and which of those two parties looked smarter by the close. Spoiler for most editions so far: not me. The gap versus SPY is printed at the top of every site we run, and this column is where I explain how each day's slice of that gap happened.
